Our Mission:
Suzuki Arts Co. embodies Dr. Shinichi Suzuki's vision to enrich the lives of people of all ages through transformative music education and performance.

Our Impact:

Suzuki Arts Co. reaches hundreds of students, families, and music lovers throughout the Kansas City metro area. Our unique approach to education uses music as the medium to teach life skills to our students and their families. Our approach helps the family unit understand how to work together through conflicts; students and their families learn strategies for cooperation, bonding and learning how to achieve goals as a team. Students work weekly with peers and develop nuanced social skills through creating music with others. Music develops our students’ college readiness in particular their ability to be flexbile, capable individuals who can thrive in leadership positions and supporting roles with empathy towards their peers at all ages and stages of development. On average, students are in our program for ten years or longer. Suzuki lessons provide a pivotal and nurturing educational experiences in the lives of KC youth. Our students and faculty, perform regularly throughout the KC metro, sharing music and joy for audiences throughout our community.

Suzuki Arts’ various education programs include the:

  • Kansas City Suzuki Academy: Kansas City’s top music school for children of all ages and abilities .

  • Suzuki Community Concerts: Public performances that showcase the achievements of our students and faculty while enriching the local arts community.

  • KC Suzuki Summer Workshops: Summer clinics that explore a variety of musical topics and skill building opportunities.

  • Coda Chamber Music: An ensemble program featuring multiple levels of orchestras and chamber music classes, that foster collaboration among musicians of various ages and skill levels at the KC Suzuki Academy.

Each of these branches serves to strengthen the family relations of the Kansas City community by using music education as a tool for improving communication skills, organizational skills, college readiness and compromise tactics.
